Could you imagine being in the room with the disciples when the wind and tongues of fire came through the power of the Holy Spirit? The key verse in this passage is 2:1. The disciples were together. We can experience God as individuals, but there is something extremely powerful about experiencing God with a close community. I think verse two is a great hope for everyday! The NRSV reads “May mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance!” That sounds great to me! It is interesting how that passage jumps out. I want all those things, but do I want to do the work that produces peace? Read more…
